The May Geslins
The Dan Thomas Maritime & Traditional Stage, Saturday, 15.00 – 15.30
The May Geslins are a folk duo, Chris & Kath Jordan, both former members of the now disbanded Hull Folk Collective, who specialise in mixing folk song with historical narrative.
In recent years they have worked in collaboration with Hull Community Theatre providing linking and incidental music in their shows.
They are currently touring locally with the show Time & Tide and the two previous productions have been Cowd Stringy Pie and Riding the Stang – all based around local history.
Last year they also collaborated with the Grandsons and Daughters of the Old Temperance Revival to produce a show called Hymns, Spirituals and Songs of the Old Campground – which was well received.
Their music, which is played on a range of instruments, varies from early English folk song, traditional and Americana through to self-composed numbers so you can expect a wide variety of styles!
