The official website of the Hull Folk and Maritime Festival

The festival is set to take place across the weekend of July 11-13 – watch this space or visit our Facebook page for updates in the coming months.

Important note: due to lack of funding and various logistical and personal challenges, we’re not able to put on the full festival with large main stage as we have in previous years.

However, there will still be live folk music across two days at Humber Street Gallery, along with informal singaround sessions across the weekend. We’re also hoping some dancers will join us to add a bit of colour to the Humber Street and Marina area.

If any venues would like to put on their own acts, they’re very welcome, though they’ll need to cover their own costs.

While this will be a more grassroots/indoor event this year, we still want to keep the spirit of the festival alive, so if anyone wants to help in any respect it’d be very much appreciated.

HFMF is organised by Folk in Hull, a registered charity that also hosts related events such as the popular maritime concerts, singarounds and sessions and pop-up buskers’ gigs. A number of our members work with schools and other community groups to help keep the folk tradition alive.

Here are a few photos from the 2024 festival – the first after a five-year break.
