Dogfinger

The Mick McGarry GMB Main Stage, Sunday, 12.00 – 12.45

Dogfinger Steve played guitar and wrote songs with northern indie goth unit Stiff Kittens from 1984 to 1988.

The band recorded a BBC Janice Long session and had two indie chart successes… they played their last gig in west Berlin in 1988 at the independence day festival months before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The Rattlehead emerged when the Kittens broke up, supporting the mighty Gwarr on their first UK outing, several grunge bands followed in the 1990s.

Steve now plays homegrown cigarbox guitars and stompbox, resonator or acoustic and has blazed a trail around UK venues and festivals with his boutique slide style for the past 12 years – York, Hull, Colne, Diggle and many more blues festivals, and some great supports ranging from the Groundhogs and Chris Helme to Skerryvore.

With heartfelt blues and more, a love for connecting with an audience and playing by the seat of his pants, every Dogfinger gig is unique.
